On Saturday, the Triple-A Las Vegas Aviators baseball team will play a game with what the club is calling its “alternate identity.”

Las Vegas’ minor league baseball team will be known as the “Las Vegas Gamblers” complete with a new uniform and baseball hat.

The “Gamblers” ball caps are available on the team’s “The Fly Zone” merch site:

It was hardly a secret that the new Aviators’ logo that was designed by team owner Howard Hughes Corporation was met with confusion over what exactly the logo stood for.  Many fans thought the confusing figure looked like Marvel’s Ant-Man logo.

Saturday’s one-day promotion will allow the Triple-A team of the Athletics to showcase an alternate identity that focuses on Las Vegas’ gambling history and style. The Aviators also have a Hispanic name, “Reyes de Plata,” (Silver Kings), which is highlighted at Tuesday home games and with logo gear sales.

The Las Vegas Gamblers play the Tacoma Rainiers on Saturday.
