No intense heat for the Las Vegas Raiders this morning.

Josh McDaniels’ club went indoors for their Monday workout, going through drills in the massive fieldhouse at the Raiders headquarter/training site that sits in the south Vegas Valley, about three miles east of I-15 in Henderson.

The Raiders play their first exhibition game in less than two weeks. It’s Aug. 13 when the San Francisco 49ers, Jimmy Garoppolo’s former team, visit Allegiant Stadium for a preseason match.

If you’re attending Raiders home games, the team suggests you download the CLEAR App.

CLEAR helped the Raiders clear the way for fans to enter Allegiant Stadium during the 2021 season when the team allowed only fans who showed proof of COVID-19 vaccination to attend home games. During the Raiders’ maiden season at Allegiant Stadium in 2020, the Raiders did not allow fans inside the building for home games.

The Raiders’ massive fieldhouse was back in action Monday as starters like quarterback Garoppolo and receiver Davante Adams and their teammates went through drills. The fieldhouse is also used for other purposes like local activities and community events as the Raiders look to set roots in a competitive Las Vegas sports market.

As far as practice went, Garoppolo did not exactly look like he was in mid-season form. It was the first question for the Raiders’ offensive coordinator. Take a read:

Offensive Coordinator Mick Lombardi
Q: Just watching today it seemed a little bit of an inefficient day for Jimmy Garoppolo. Are we seeing
some of the rust maybe of a guy that hasn’t played football for a while?
Coach Lombardi: “I think it’s just practice from everybody. Today was third down day, so worked all
situations in third down, worked two-minute. So, a lot of new stuff. Everybody on the team, whether it’s
offense, defense, special teams is going through that phase in camp where every day is a different day
and every day is a learning experience. You’re going to make some mistakes and you’re going to learn
from them and help you to get better the next day. So, whether it’s quarterback, receivers, tight ends,
running back, fullback, they’re all in the same boat and everybody makes a mistake here and there.
We’ve just got to coach it and correct it and move on and try to get better tomorrow.”
