LVCVA Forges Partnership Deal With AEG For Two International Soccer Matches At Allegiant Stadium; Deal Value Is ‘Upper Six Figures’

By Alan Snel of LVSportsBiz.com

Las Vegas’ public tourism agency has a deal with AEG, the Los Angeles-based sports and entertainment company, to partner on two high-profile international soccer matches being played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas July 22 and 23.

The two games are part of AEG’s inaugural “Soccer Champions Tour,” which is a set of exhibition games being played by well-known international soccer clubs in four U.S. cities, including Las Vegas July 22-30.

LVSportsBiz.com emailed LVCVA CEO Steve Hill and LVCVA SVP of Communications Lori Nelson-Kraft to ask how much the tourism agency is paying for the partnership. We have not received an answer, but if we do we will include the information. LVCVA expenditures are public information.

AEG said the deal is valued at “upper six figures,” but was not more specific.

In Las Vegas, Juventus plays Club Deportivo Guadalajara July 22, while the next day Real Madrid CF plays FC Barcelona.

As part of the agreement brokered by AEG Global Partnerships, the LVCVA becomes the “exclusive destination partner” of the Las Vegas matches.

In a PR statement, Tom Braun, AEG Senior Vice President of Soccer & Business Operations and Business Development was quoted, “We look forward to expanding our relationship with the LVCVA and contributing to both the growth and popularity of North American soccer through additional marquee events like this in the future.”

LVCVA CEO Steve Hill

Hill’s statement in the PR release said, “Las Vegas’ ability to attract world-class sporting events has never been stronger, and welcoming these two international soccer matches over the course of one weekend is a testament to that.”

LVSportsBiz.com requests the LVCVA include the amount of money it pays for partnership deals when making these PR statements.
