Media Gets Look At New Arena In Henderson Monday; First Event Slated For March

Bill Foley Inc., also legally known as the Foley Entertainment Group, LLC, gave the media a look at his new 6,000-seat arena that he is building with the city of Henderson.

It’s a venue that will house the Henderson Silver Knights of the American Hockey League and also Foley’s Vegas Knight Hawks of the Indoor Football League (Yes, it’s Vegas Knight Hawks even though the arena is in Henderson.)

The ice was down and it made for a good opportunity to get some pub from the media.

While the arena on the site of the old Henderson Pavilion will be known for its ice rink, the building’s first sports event will be a college basketball tournament. The venue’s address is 200 S. Green Valley Pkwy. The project is $84 million — $42 million from Foley and $42 million from the city of Henderson.

The Big West basketball championships is scheduled to start March 8 at the Dollar Loan Center. It will be the fifth college basketball tourney in this market in March along with the Pac-12 (T-Mobile Arena), the Mountain West (Thomas& Mack Center) and the WAC and West Coast (Orleans Arena).

The first Silver Knights game is slated for April 2.
