UFC Cuts Multi-Event Partnership With Ultimate Warrior Challenge Mexico

Las Vegas-based UFC is back at it, working to expand its international footprint with a multi-event partnership with Mexico-based mixed martial arts promotion Ultimate Warrior Challenge Mexico (UWC).

The promotion makes it UFC FIGHT PASS debut on Feb. 26, at 6PM. ET / 3PM PT with UWC 25: Quiñónez vs. Matos.

“We’re excited to add UWC to UFC FIGHT PASS,” said Crowley Sullivan, UFC Fight Pass president and general manager. “We take pride in offering locally relevant content, like UWC, to complement our globally recognized UFC programming.  We’re looking forward to showcasing UWC, one of Mexico’s premier MMA promotions, to viewers throughout Latin America and the rest of the world.”

UWC is Mexico’s longest running mixed martial arts promotion and has launched the careers of many athletes, including current No. 1 ranked UFC flyweight Brandon “The Assassin Baby” Moreno.

To date, UWC has held over 20 events with more than 200 bouts with fighters from México, USA, Brazil, Argentina, Philippines, Guatemala, France and more.

“UWC is home to the best athletes from south of the border, including many who have made it into UFC,” said Alejandro Islas, president of Ultimate Warrior Challenge Mexico.  “We’re incredibly thrilled to partner with UFC FIGHT PASS and showcase our athletes to their global fan base.”

The first event on UFC FIGHT PASS will be a five-round main event between Cristian Quiñónez and Dony Matos for the UWC bantamweight title.
