Nevada’s sportsbooks handled a total of $4.3 billion for 2020, including $588.4 million in sports wagers in December, according to state of Nevada Gaming Control Board numbers.

Take a look at the date supplied by Michael Lawton, senior research analyst for the state agency that regulates sports betting. You will notice the annual handle of $4.3 billion is a drop from the 2019 number of $5.3 billion in light of the pandemic knocking out chunks of the sports scene.

Dave Tuley, who does a nice job on following the beting numbers for VSiN, reported the Top 5 betting states for 2020:

1. $6.0 billion, New Jersey

2. $4.3 billion, Nevada

3. $3.5 billion, Pennsylvania

4. $1.8 billion, Indiana

5. $1.2 billion, Colorado
