It was a strong crowd for a Monday night game, but the Las Vegas Aviators’ run of 15 consecutive sellouts to begin the home season at their luxurious new Downtown Summerlin ballpark came to an end tonight.

The venue has proven to be a popular hangout for Las Vegas sports fans, especially with the Vegas Golden Knights eliminated from the Stanley Cup playoffs in the first round last month.

The crowd attendance was announced at 7,731. but not a sellout after the $150 million Triple A jewel opened April 9. The ballpark nextdoor to the Golden Knights training center sold out 14 more times after opening night.

On Monday, the re-branded Aviators (formerly the 51s) were playing the Fresno Grizzlies in the final game of a four-game series during the season’s longest homestand.

The Grizzlies were leading Las Vegas, 9-1, in the top of the seventh inning.
