Retailers Gearing Up For Golden Knights’ Debut In Las Vegas

By ALAN SNEL

Retailers are gearing up for the Vegas Golden Knights’ maiden season, including Sports Town in Downtown Summerlin.

The sports apparel store has a special display in a corner of its store with more than a dozen types of shirts and caps as the rookie NHL franchise prepares to launch its season in October with training camp starting next month.

The hockey jerseys for fans will not be available until September. The jerseys will be the big ticket items, running in the $150-$250 range depending on whether names are added and whether it’s a replica or not.

The shirts and the hats are the big sellers with the jerseys still weeks away from arriving at their retail locations.

The store also sells accessories such as a licensed bag with a heart and “love” on it along with the Golden Knights logo.

There’s even a goalie mask with the Golden Knights logo on it.

The assortment of Golden Knights shirts includes the secondary logo.

The Golden Knights display includes a banner that the store hopes will be signed by the team’s players and sold for charity. It’s not licensed, so the banner cannot be commercially sold.
