LVCVA, College Football Playoff Start Hyping Championship Game In Las Vegas In January

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — It’s only four months away in Las Vegas. College football’s national championship game is set for Allegiant Stadium Jan. 25.

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) began in earnest Tuesday to create a buzz for the College Football Playoff title game with CFP Executive Director Rich Clark appearing before the LVCVA board at Tuesday’s monthly meeting to talk up the big game. LVCVA CEO Steve Hill introduced Clark to the board.

Clark said his CFP team is in Las Vegas this week for a site visit.

Both Clark and Hill expect Super Bowl-like security for the perimeter of the game site.

Clark said he wants fans to experience the CFP game in Las Vegas even if they don’t have game tickets by attending a CFP game fanfest, 5K run event and concert. Clark also said the food will be great with a Taste of Vegas.

Hill told LVSportsBiz.com that the LVCVA, LVCVA consultant Position Sports and the CFP will also split up about 11 tasks like marketing, security, hotels and game-related events during the months leading to the title game.
