Mark Davis On A Roll: His Raiders and Aces Both Win Sunday; Prolific Revenues Generated From Investors, Stadium, Public Fund

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — On Sunday, when it came to wins and losses, Mark Davis did pretty well.
Davis’ NFL Raiders and WNBA Aces both won on the same day.
In Inglewood, California, the Raiders scored their second straight win to open the season with a 26-14 triumph over division foe Los Angeles Chargers, while the Aces back in Las Vegas breezed by the Seattle Storm, 98-77, to reach a record of 29 wins and 13 losses.
Davis is doing pretty well lately. His Raiders will be receiving $75 million in public money to help build a $158 million welcome plaza on Allegiant Stadium’s north side next to Hacienda Avenue. Davis already enjoyed $750 million in public dollars to help him build the domed six-year-old stadium.
Thanks, in part, to the stadium’s revenue-generating powers, his Raiders are worth about $10 billion. So when Davis sold minority shares of the Raiders to investors like Michael Dell, Ari Emanuel, Egon Durban, Michael Meldman and Tom Brady, Davis now has plenty of money to buy all the In-and-Out Burger and P.F. Chang’s meals he wants.
The Raiders finished with the worst record in the National Football League in 2025, but this season is a different story after two games. The Raiders defeated the Dolphins, 27-13, in the season-opener at Allegiant Stadium and quarterback Kirk Cousins threw another three touchdowns Sunday in the 12-point win over the Chargers.
Cousins is the first Raiders quarterback to throw three touchdowns in the first two games of the season since Kenny Stabler did that in 1976 a stunning 50 years ago.
A very serious-minded Klint Kubiak is the new Raiders coach after he was the offensive coordinator for the defending NFL champion Seattle Seahawks. Kubiak has the Raiders playing solid football in the first two games of his rookie head coaching career.
The Raiders travel to New Orleans Sunday to play the Saints before returning home to play the rival Kansas City Chief at Allegiant Stadium Oct. 4.
Meanwhile, the Acres are winding down their regular season and will then chase a fourth WNBA championship in five years under Davis.
