LAS VEGAS, Nevada — The Las Vegas-bound Athletics continue filling business job positions here in Las Vegas as the MLB team has a new Director of Brand.
Chase Altieri is the Athletics’ new Brand Director, which is a challenging job with a franchise trying to create a brand identity in a fast-growing sports market already filled with several major league teams and bigtime sports events. Altieri announced his new A’s job on the LinkedIn website.
“Ready to get to work, help build a brand this city can claim as its own while resonating well beyond it, and have a ball along the way with an incredible team,” Altieri posted on LinkedIn.
The A’s are building a $2 billion domed stadium on the Strip at the former Tropicana hotel-casino site. The stadium has 30,000 fixed seats and another 3,000 standing room spots for a total capacity of 33,000.
They are playing in a Triple-A ballpark in West Sacramento from 2025-27 before looking to open the new stadium in Las Vegas in 2028. Under a 2023 state stadium funding law, the public is contributing $380 million to help the A’s build the venue at the southeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue.
Altieri comes from LIV Golf, where he worked for more than three years, including the last year and seven months as the director of team brand operations based out of New York.
Before LIV Golf, he worked for Exos as senior manager of sports marketing and communications and also worked on game day communications for the NFL Tampa Bay Buccaneers for six months.
And from 2017-2021, Altieri worked at the Women’s Professional Tennis (WTA) as a communications manager.
Fast-growing Las Vegas has seen its sports teams hire people from outside this market for business and marketing jobs. For example, the NHL Vegas Golden Knights hired a new team president overseeing business from the NFL Minnesota Vikings and he, in turn, hired a chief operating officer and chief marketing officer from outside Las Vegas.
The A’s have struggled in the second half of the 2026 MLB season, suffering from awful pitching and a slew of injuries. The team’s record is 60-88, fourth place in the weak American League West division.
The Raiders also left Oakland for Las Vegas and have been trying to create an identity here in Las Vegas since moving into their palatial stadium on the west side of I-15 across from Mandalay Bay in 2020. The Raiders have had new head coaches and quarterbacks each season for the past four years. They play their season-opener at Allegiant Stadium Sunday.
