Raiders Execs, LVCVA Tourism Officials In Miami For College Football National Championship Game

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Las Vegas made a strong presence at college football’s national championship game and in the Miami area Monday with Raiders owner Mark Davis checking out potential number one draft pick Fernando Mendoza of Indiana while LVCVA CEO Steve Hill was in South Florida with Las Vegas hosting the 2027 title game.
Davis was joined by Raiders minority owner Tom Brady and team general manager John Spytek on the sidelines of the game that matched Indiana and Miami. The Hoosiers took the game, 27-21, to win the CFP national championship.
Mendoza is the Heisman Award-winning quarterback projected to be the NFL Draft’s number one overall pick held by the Raiders, which won only three of 17 games to hold the Draft’s top overall selection.
Meanwhile, Hill led a contingent of Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) staffers to Miami for the championship tilt. LVSportsBiz.com reported the LVCVA spent more than $71,000 in public dollars on a trip to see last year’s college football championship game in Atlanta.
