LAS VEGAS, Nevada — You didn’t think the Chicago Sky had a chance to win tonight?

The Las Vegas Aces are on fire and are beating every team in the WNBA from the best (Minnesota Lynx) to the worst (Chicago Sky) and everyone in between during a stunning 15-game winning streak after the Lynx destroyed the Aces, 111-58, on a Saturday in Las Vegas Aug. 2.

Since that embarrassing loss more than a month ago, the Aces have surged to second place in the 13-team WNBA led by MVP candidate A’ja Wilson who has already won three season MVPs and a team commitment to physical defensive play that has translated into closing out wins in the fourth quarter.

The Aces had an eight-point lead at the half and then outscored the beleagured Chicago squad by a 23-11 count in the third quarter and the game was over. The lead ballooned to 25 in the fourth and 31 at the end as the Aces can tell the world they have won 15 games in a row after winning, 92-61.

The Aces are now 29-14 on the season and can clinch the number two seed in the playoffs with a win over the LA Sparks in the final game of the regular season Thursday.

What’s amazing about WNBA games and Aces events are the wide range of fans and Aces games, by far, attract the biggest spectrum of people representing the Las Vegas area. It’s America at its most beautiful.

By the end, the Aces were celebrating.

The Aces ended their home court record with a 17-5 mark on Fan Appreciation Day.

They spread the scoring across the roster: Both Jackie Young and Jewell Loyd each scored 15, NaLyssa Smith and Dana Evans each contributed 13, and MVP candidate A’ja Wilson added 11 in 25 minutes.

Chelsea Gray scored ten while Cheyenne Parker-Tyus made her debut after giving birth with eight points.
