In a sports market like Las Vegas that is getting more expensive to buy game tickets, it’s hard to pass up on one of the best ticket deals this weekend: UNLV football is pitching a four-ticket deal for 56 bucks.

That $16 per ticket, with all fees, charges and taxes included, is for the UNLV home-opener against Utah Tech at Allegiant Stadium at 12 noon Saturday. The tickets are for lower bowl seats.

UNLV’s football, once a downtrodden program, is suddenly a hot sports item in Vegas and even around the country.

The Rebels opened their season with a 20-point win over Houston Texas and there’s chatter that UNLV football can win the Mountain West and make college football’s new 12-teaam playoff system.

For its six regular-season home games in 2023, UNLV drew 20,347 vs Bryant, 22,582 vs Vanderbilt, 25,328 vs Hawaii, 22,585 vs Colorado State, 25,568 vs Wyoming and 25,554 vs San Jose State. UNLV also hosted the Mountain West championship game at Allegiant Stadium against Boise State and drew 31,473.

The school didn’t open the stadium’s upper bowl for the regular season games in 2023.
