A well-known liquor retail store chain in Nevada has the new naming rights to the small arena in Henderson that was built by Vegas Golden Knights owner Bill Foley.

The arena that houses the Henderson Silver Knights minor league hockey team is now known as the Lee Family Forum, named after Lee’s Discount Liquors.

The arena, which is technically owned by the city of Henderson, a city known for its Mormon population, is now named after an alcohol retail store chain.

There was a 22-year naming rights deal between Dollar Loan Center, a short-term lending chain owned by Chuck Brennan, that began when the all-purpose arena opened in spring 2022.

There was an “amicable parting with DLC (Dollar Loan Center),” according to a Foley spokesman. The terms of the deals with the Lee family are confidential.

Lee’s Discount Liquor has 19 stores in Southern Nevada.

The arena also houses another Foley sports team, the Indoor Football League’s Knight Hawks. A professional women’s volleyball team, the Vegas Thrill, also plays in the $84 million arena. The NBA G-League Ignite used to play there. The Big West basketball conference also hosts its annual basketball tournament at the arena located in the Green Valley section of Henderson.

The city of Henderson contributed $42 million to the construction and Foley paid the other $42 million to build the arena with 5,567 fixed seats.

According to a Foley press release, “The new name coincides with a multi-year extension of Foley Entertainment Group’s partnership with the Lee Family and their family business Lee’s Discount Liquors. The company, founded by the Lees in Las Vegas more than 40 years ago in 1981, is the largest liquor store chain in Nevada and have been longtime supporters of the Vegas Golden Knights and Henderson Silver Knights.”
