Golden Knights goal scorers and game scoring: Jonathan Marchessault scored his 28th goal from in close midway through period one; It was VGK 1 Carolina after one period; early in the second period, Andrei Svechnikov scored on a gorgeous backhander that beat Adin Hill top shelf; early in third period, Seth Jarvis scored a short-handed goal to give Carolina a 2-1 lead; then Stefan Noesen scores to give Carolina a 3-1 lead. Final: Carolina 3 Vegas 1

Storyline: Fans coped the best they could to arrive at T-Mobile Arena given the I-15 closure for the Tropicana Avenue road project. VGK give up short-handed goal in third period as Carolina takes lead, which was the turning point of the game.
