The last time Raiders owner Mark Davis introduced a new head coach and general manager two years ago, it did not work out very well.

Davis fired former coach John McDaniels and ex-GM Dave Ziegler on Halloween night.

Today, there was a sense of renewal and rebirth when Davis introduced Antonio Pierce as the team’s official head coach and former Chargers GM Tom Telesco as the Raiders’ new general manager.

“I suggest that you ask all the questions that you want and make them the right ones because I don’t think they’re going to be talking to you too much after this. They’ve got some work to do,” Davis told the media.

The Raiders dropped 63 points on the Chargers this past season, so Pierce had some fun with Telesco on that Thursday Night game at Allegiant Stadium.

“Right away, you know it. Told him I was going for 71. We were going to for two,” Pierce joked.

Much of the Raiders staff attended the session, with team President Sandra Douglass Morgan and former Raiders player Richard Seymour in attendance.
