The UNLV football team ended the regular season with a loss to San Jose State and then a thumping at the hands of Boise State in the Mountain West Conference championship game Saturday.
But now comes an opportunity to end the 2023 campaign on a high note as UNLV goes bowling with a date with Kansas at the Guaranteed Rate Bowl at Chase Field in downtown Phoenix Dec. 26.
The Rebels have won nine of their 13 games, a turnaround season under coach Barry Odom.
Even with UNLV on a two-game losing streak, most UNLV fans have been overjoyed by the overall performance of a Rebels squad that staged late-game dramatics to win games against Vanderbilt, Colorado State and Air Force.
