Bowl-bound UNLV has one more game to play before the bowl season descends on college football.

The nine-win, three-loss Rebels will host Boise State in the Mountain West Conference championship game at Allegiant Stadium Saturday at 12 noon.

The league had a three-way tie between UNLV, Boise State and San Jose State as the three teams won six of their eight conference games. Even though the San Jose State Spartans defeated UNLV yesterday, 37-31, the computers ranked the Rebels above Boise State and San Jose State, which started 1-5 but then reeled off six straight wins.

The winner of the Mountain West championship game gets a berth in the LA Bowl Hosted by Gronk Bowl at SoFi Stadium on Dec. 16. If UNLV wins the MWC championship game, there is also a very slim chance the Rebels could get a crack at a NY6 game like the Fiesta Bowl or Peach Bowl.

UNLV coach Barry Odom’s job is to prepare a football team that was disappointed after the lose to San Jose State Saturday. UNLV announced attendance at 25,554 for the San Jose game yesterday. By the way, Odom turned 47 years old today. For Odom, it was a nice birthday gift today.

The stadium will have to be rented out, with UNLV paying anywhere from $354,000 to $371,000 per game to the Raiders for each of the six home games in 2022. But for a conference title game, the Mountain West will pay to rent Allegiant Stadium and cover expenses, with the game being treated like a UNLV home game.

All current UNLV football season ticket holders can purchase their same seats and parking for the Mountain West Football championship game.

Season ticket holders can log-in to their online account and purchase their seats at a discounted rate. The deadline for season ticket holders to purchase their same seats and parking is Tuesday at 5PM Vegas time.

General ticket prices will start at $20, including all fees, and can be purchased at UNLVTickets.com. Current UNLV students will receive one ticket, free of charge, and have the opportunity to purchase one additional guest ticket for $15, available for download starting at 10AM Sunday.
