Golden Knights season ticket holder and superfan Lan Beyster donated $10,000 to Will Carrier’s charity last year and figured the speedy, hustling VGK winger would score about ten goals this season. So, she pledged $1,000 per Carrier goal this season, figuring she would donate another $10,000 or so in 2023.

Well, Beyster and the rest of the Golden Knights faithful have been in for a surprise from Carrier in VGK Year 6.

Original Misfit Carrier is having a career year with 16 goals, including the game-tying tally in period three tonight against Calgary before VGK defenseman Alex Pietrangelo scored the winning goal in overtime for the Knights’ 4-3 comeback win against division foe Calgary.

Carrier said scoring goals has been good for his charity:

The Knights announced attendance at 17,609 and they watched the VGK win their eighth game out of eight contests against Calgary on the friendly home ice of T-Mobile Arena off the Strip.

Calgary had 2-0 and 3-1 leads on Vegas after the Knights awoke from a first period slumber and dominated the third period, limiting the Flames to a lone shot on goal against VGK netminder Laurent Brossoit in the final stanza to tie the game at three apiece thanks to goals by defenseman Zack Whitecloud and Carrier.

Knights coach Bruce Cassidy mentioned after the game that the VGK found their legs and became competitive in the second period before rallying in the third period. He noted Calgary was trying to get to the finish line in the third period with the win, but may have been running out of gas.

When Calgary comes to Las Vegas, they typically strike out.

The Flame were 0 for seven in Vegas with a goal differential of minus 22 at the Knights’ home arena going into tonight’s game.

Let’s take a look at ticket prices for the game.

The Golden Knights’ own secondary ticket market has the cheapest ticket at 30 bucks at AXS:

Most in Las Vegas know the Knights’ Triple-A farm club is here in Henderson. But what about the Single-A farm hands in the VGK organization? Here’s a sweater for the Savannah, Georgia team:

It’s a tight playoff race in the Western Conference, where the eight teams that would qualify for the postseason today are separated by only six points.

Brossoit was in goal for the Knights, with Logan Thompson and Adin Hill still injured.

The Knights started slowly for the 6 PM ESPN game.

The Flames scored a power play goal and were outshooting Vegas, 16-2 and 17-4, with about five minutes left in the first period.

Jakob Pelletier gave the Flames a 1-0 lead and then the Flames struck early in period two to grab a 2-0 lead thanks to a goal by Jonathan Huberdeau, his 11th of the season.

The Knights countered with a power play goal by Jack Eichel, his 19th of the season and the Flames led, 2-1, late period two.

But Calgary’s Mikael Backlund restored the Flames’ two-goal advantage and Calgary took a 3-1 lead into the final stanza.

The Knights were buzzing in period three as Whitecloud scored on a nifty shot from a short pocket pass from Reilly Smith and the Knights were down 3-2 in the final period.

That set up goals by Carrier and Pietrangelo and the Knights improved their Western Conference-leading point total to 75 with a 35-18-5 record.

VGK play Dallas Saturday here in Vegas.
