The Gaming Society, a betting education platform company founded by NBA Hall-of-Fame star Kevin Garnett and sports executive Jaymee Messler in 2021, has enlisted Las Vegas Aces guard Chelsea Gray to be on its advisory board of directors.

Gray joins two other big names on the advisory board — former New York Yankees great Derek Jeter and WNBA Hall Of Famer Sheryl Swoopes.

The organization’s board will try to make sports betting more inclusive and accessible.

Gray has become more noticeable in the sports world. The Olympic gold medal winner and point guard for the WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces is among the Las Vegas celebrities on videos welcoming fans to Vegas Golden Knights NHL games at T-Mobile Arena.

Gray, the WNBA Finals MVP from last season, noted about her membership on the Gaming Society board:  “There’s a real need for betting education, not just amongst fans but amongst athletes too. Additionally, “Women’s sports stand to benefit immensely through this innovative approach to fan engagement. Gaming Society is uniquely positioned to capitalize on these opportunities and advance the industry forward through accessibility and their Bet on Women initiative.”

Messler added: “Gaming Society has become a true community that believes games, betting, and social experiences will be key driving factors in not only bringing in new sports fans but also engaging with existing fans on a deeper level.

“With a wealth of experience across the spectrum of sports business, Chelsea, Derek and Sheryl understand the complexities, challenges and opportunities of the rapidly evolving sports industry and will serve Gaming Society extremely well.”

Gaming Society announced two key partnerships in 2022. In August, the WNBA partnered with the organization to create the free-to-play “Bet On Women” prediction game, which is designed to bolster fan engagement. Last October, it named FanDuel as its first official sportsbook partner.
