Have no fear wine drinkers of AFC Bournemouth Nation. Your new owner, Bill Foley, is planning to bring his Foley wines to Bournemouth home games to start cross-promoting the product in the first quarter of 2023.

In fact, some of Foley’s marketing crew will soon be heading to Foley’s Bournemouth soccer team in the English Premier League to pave the way for Foley’s wines to be served at the soccer venue in much the same way the wines are available at concession areas at Vegas Golden Knights games.

Foley’s acquisition of Bournemouth was officially sealed last week and Golden Knights team broadcasters already began wearing the Bournemouth team scarf as the cross-promotion of Foley’s new property moved into gear.

Bournemouth Cherries scarves and logo gear will be available here at Foley property retail stores in 2023 after licensing issues are ironed out.

Foley has already visited the team to watch a game in person.

Foley bought a winery in California  in 2020 and another winery and vineyards with lodging in Oregon in March.

Foley’s hockey team is struggling —  on home ice.

The Buffalo Sabres scored three goals in period two and led the VGK, 3-0, heading into the final stanza. Buffalo’s Jeff Skinner scored his 16th goal, including 13 in the last 14 games; six-foot, seven-inch Tage Thompson notched his 26th; and defenseman Lawrence Pilut scored his first of the season for the Sabres’ 3-0 lead after two periods.

The three goals held.

The Knights rebounded with 23 shots on goal in the third period alone, netting two goals.

But the Knights did not tally the equalizer, losing, 3-2, to a very high-scoring and hot Buffalo team. It was the Sabres’ fourth win a row, while the Knights have lost six of their last seven home games. The VGK lost to Seattle on Nov. 25 and have won only one game at home since, a 2-1 decision over the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Knights are having troubles scoring. Mark Stone failed to score on a breakaway as Buffalo goalie Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made a nice save. In period three, Jonathan Marchessault was awarded a penalty shot, but his attempt was not even close to a goal.

VGK goalie Adin Hill made a nice stop on an Alex Tuch breakaway before Knights center Chandler Stephenson scored on his own breakaway to cut the Buffalo lead to 3-1.

Then the Knights’ Reilly Smith snapped a wrister past Luukkonen and the VGK were down a lone goal with about two minutes left in the third period. They never did tie the game.

The Knights play Arizona on Wednesday in Vegas.
