One of the great endorsement mysteries in Vegas Golden Knights lore was if Nate Schmidt could pitch Hyundais and Max Pacioretty could hawk Toyotas, why didn’t William Karlsson get a hair shampoo endorsement deal?
It was clear from Golden Knights Season 1 that Original Misfit Karlsson and his Thor-like locks should have been in a TV commercial pitching Selsun Blue, Dove Men+Care or Head & Shoulders.
Now in VGK Season 6, Karlsson has a much shorter haircut.
The Misfit’s hair style has gone from rock star to boy band and it’s unclear if his hair has the stuff to command the big bucks for a shampoo ad.
Interestingly enough, Karlsson, who is Swedish, did endorse a local Volvo dealership here in the Las Vegas market during his VGK career.
And even though pictures of Karlsson showed up in the local IKEA store, a chain founded in Sweden, Karlsson told LVSportsBiz.com that he never did an endorsement deal with IKEA.
“People put my pictures up” in the store, Karlsson told LVSB at his locker after practice today at City National Arena in Summerlin.
He’s still open to that shampoo endorsement deal.
I told him I’d talk to his agent about getting him a shampoo commercial.
“Plant the seed,” Karlsson advised ruefully.

It looks like U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, who squeaked by Adam Laxalt in her re-election bid, is getting some free advertising on the Golden Knights players hockey gear.
Some people call Cortez Masto, “CCM,” which just happens to be the Canadian name for a hockey equipment manifacturer. “CCM” shows up on hockey pants — which kind of reminiscent of the commercial parches appearing on players’ jerseys and helmets.

Paul Cotter, Happy Birthday — the VGK forward, who often hears, “Welcome Back,” after the Welcome Back Kotter TV show, turns 23 today. Cotter said he’s aware people call him, “Welcome Back,” but he hasn’t seen the TV show, Welcome Back Kotter, too much.

Bruce Cassidy said the VGK have had pockets of good play in the past two games that have resulted in losses.
Cassidy said he had a chat with the players in the same room used for our media session to address some issues on the ice as the Knights prepare for the Arizona Coyotes Thursday night at the Big Ice House by the Strip.
