The NHL has revealed its retro jerseys, with the Vegas Golden Knights sweater displaying a diagonal “VEGAS” design.

The NHL aimed for a throwback feel to the jerseys, but the VGK noted in a press release, “Since the Golden Knights are only in their sixth season, the team has opted to honor its home city and the history of Vegas as its throwback theme.”

Here’s a look at all the team retro jerseys. LVSportsBiz.com like the Los Angeles Kings retro the best and predicted the Vegas look would be a diagonal display of the lettering.

The Vegas designers put some thought into the jersey.

The “VEGAS” across the front uses the font of the Excalibur Hotel, which opened in 1990 as the largest resort in the world at the time. The numbers on the back copy the cosmic lettering of the outer-space themed Stardust hotel.

There’s also a glow-in-the-dark detail woven into the word, “VEGAS,” a first of its kind in pro sports uniforms. adidas is the NHL jersey vendor.

And the pants. Well, let the VGK explain it: “also feature white swords which are designed to resemble the sword within the Excalibur sign. The traditional red and gold that are usually a part of Vegas’ colorwheel can still be found on the jersey as striping detail to further evoke the energy of The Strip and the NHL crest is remixed in vintage orange and black colors.

“The red detailing will also come to life under UV light to resemble neon sign tubing. This will be the fourth jersey in franchise history and the first new one since the red Reverse Retro introduced during the 2020-21 season.”

The new retro jerseys across the NHL are available Nov. 15 and cost $190-$240, according to the league.
