Defenseman Zack Hayes scored not one but two goals in the first period for the Knights.

But Arizona dominated most of the game, piling up 40 shots on goal after two periods to the 14 by Vegas. The Coyotes also scored a pair of goals in the middle stanza to knot the game at two after two periods.

Pavel Dorofeyev went top shelf in the third period and gave VGK a 3-2 lead.

After Arizona tied the game, William Karlsson scored the game-winner for the VGK 4-3 win.

Adin Hill was quite a busy fella between the pipes for Vegas. He stopped 50 of 53 shots on goal.

Michael Amadio chipped in with three assists in the final home game of the preseason for the VGK. The Knights’ regular season debut is Oct. 13 when the Chicago Black Hawks come to Las Vegas.

Paul Cotter was back in the lineup and he discussed his game after the win.
