The Las Vegas Aces have announced that Sunday’s Game 1 of the WNBA Finals at Michelob Ultra Arena is sold out.

That’s 10,000 strong expected to pack the arena at Mandalay Bay for the Aces against a rugged Connecticut Sun squad that knocked out the defending champion Chicago Sky in Game 5 of the Semis Thursday. The Sun wiped out the Sky, 18-0, down the stretch to turn a 63-54 deficit into a 72-63 win for a Game 1 ticket to the Finals in Las Vegas.

The Aces were selling tickets for as low as $10 each and do have some tickets for Game 2 on Sunday.

The Aces are coming off a Semifinals win over the Seattle Storm and took the final three games in a row to reach to the Finals for the second time in three years. But the first trip to the Finals was in 2020 when the WNBA played in the bubble in west Florida and had no fans in the stands.

This time, the Aces will have their fans packed into the stands at Mandalay Bay.

The series will be a fascinating contrast of styles: the Aces’ up-tempo, 90-points-a-game offense against the Sun’s physical defense led by six-foot, six-inch Jonquel Jones.
