The trade show organizer that used to put on the Interbike bicycle industry show in Las Vegas is exploring the potential relaunch of the international bicycle expo that was last held in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in 2017. Interbike was held in Reno in 2018 before the show stopped.

Emerald Expositions held a recent survey, saying in an email Wednesday, “A large majority, 84% to be exact, are interested in participating in a future Interbike Event.”

Emerald noted 56 percent were interested in attending in 2022, while 28 percent were interested in attending in 2023.

The survey was based on 940 people completing the survey, with 45 percent of the respondents classifying themselves as Attendee/Buyer and 34 percent classifying themselves as Sponsor/Exhibitors.

But if Interbike ever returns, it might not be in Las Vegas. Emerald said, “76 percent of respondents feel positive or neutral about co-locating with Outdoor Retailer in Denver.” The Outdoor Retailer Snow Show was just held in Denver last week. The Outdoor Retailer Summer show is scheduled for Denver June 9-11.

As far as the content for Interbike, “Respondents are eager to explore/source new products, as 83 percent indicated it was a very important or the most important component to the show. This was followed by Networking and Education respectively,” Emerald Expositions said.
