Pro Bowl Skills Competition Takes A Swing At Las Vegas Ballpark This Week

Back in the good ol’ days of the National Football League, the Lords of the Pigskin frowned quite a bit on Las Vegas and its potential gambling influences on the integrity of trying to win football games.

But these days, the NFL literally can’t get enough of Las Vegas and sports gambling.

At a very snazzy local minor league baseball park where the NFL brought its own playing turf, NFL football players Wednesday arrived at the Las Vegas Aviators ball yard in suburban Summerlin about a dozen miles west of the Strip.

The NFL’s Pro Bowl skills competition that includes precision passing, best catch and fastest man games are set for Las Vegas Ballpark.

One fella showed up at the front of the ballpark and wanted in.

“Are you a fan,” a security worker asked him.

“No, I’m a player.”

He was told to go around to the back of the baseball park, and off he jogged to an entrance in the back.

The NFL is also embracing the Strip for its Draft event April 28-30. Clark County commissioners were updated on the Draft event that includes draft selection walking a red carpet on a stage built in the Bellagio Fountains and a main stage near the High Roller observation wheel.

Southern Nevada is also hosting the 2024 Super Bowl at Allegiant Stadium, a domed venue that was built with $750 million in public dollars and opened by the Raiders in July 2021.

And if you’re attending the Pro Bowl Sunday, remember to download the Clear app to show proof of vaccination to enter Allegiant Stadium.
