The Raiders’ outdoor video displayed an American flag on this Sept, 11, a day of remembrance and reflection of a country that was in pain two decades ago

Sept. 11 also revealed an America that had heart, compassion and unity — a sense of come-togetherness missing amid a coronavirus pandemic that has killed 650,000 Americans. That’s the death toll of more than 200 9/11s.

On this day, the COVID-19 virus was front and center at the Las Vegas Raiders’ Allegiant Stadium, where an alternate screening tent was erected and workers prepared to help fans solve any COVID vaccination issues.  The Raiders are the first NFL team to require fans to be vaccinated against the virus in order to attend the Monday Night Football game between the Raiders and Baltimore Ravens.

If you are a Raiders season ticket holder, the NFL team in its second season in Las Vegas will refund your money or you have the option to roll over your season plan to 2022.

Raiders owner Mark Davis, who said he is vaccinated , declared the vaccination requirement policy last month because he said stadium staff cannot police all the people inside the domed, 65,000-seat to wear masks.

There is an indoor mask mandate in Clark County, where there 802 new cases of COVID on Sept. 10. But LVSportsBiz.com saw many fans at sports events inside Allegiant Stadium not wearing masks even thought there is an indoor mask policy in the county. The Vegas Golden Knights have not said anything about a vaccination requirement for fans to attend home games in T-Mobile Arena.

The first VGK preseason game at T-Mobile Arena is Sept. 26, the same day the Raiders host the Miami Dolphins and Las Vegas Motor Speedway hosts a NASCAR race.

Raiders ticket prices for the MNF game are decreasing on the secondary market. The least expensive Raiders-Ravens ticket is $167, plus another $50 or so in fees.

When Davis held a press conference about the COVID vax requirement, he said the team did experience some opposition from fans.

On Saturday, LVSportsBiz.com saw workers applying paint to the grass, which is cared for outside the stadium and then inserted on a tray into the stadium. Take a look.

The alternative screening tent is on parking lot B on the north side of the stadium near the Hacienda-Polaris Avenue corner.

The Raiders are trying to solve fans’ virus vaccination record issues Saturday and Sunday before the game on Monday. If you are partially vaccinated, you will have to wear a mask inside the stadium for the Ravens-Raiders game Monday.

It’s a historic day in Las Vegas because it’s the first Raiders regular-season game inside the stadium. The stadium overall project budget was about $2 billion, including $1.4 billion to build the venue. Southern Nevada contributed $750 million to the stadium construction.
