Perhaps you’re walking up and down the aisles of your local supermarket without a mask and you might think the novel coronavirus pandemic that killed 600,000 Americans is over.

Except for one thing — it’s still having an impact on pro sports had the highest level in this country.

Star Phoenix Suns guard Chris Paul missed Game 1 of the Conference Finals between the Suns and Los Angeles Clippers because of COVID-19. The Suns won without Paul, 120-114, in Phoenix Sunday.

Now, there’s news that Vegas Golden Knights General Manager Kelly McCrimmon has tested positive for COVID-19 and is isolating himself from other people. VGK statement: “We are aware of a positive test result involving Kelly McCrimmon. Kelly is self-isolating and will follow the protocols and recommendations from health officials and the NHL.”

McCrimmon was seen with VGK chief George McPhee in a suite watching the Knights’ 3-2 loss in overtime to the Canadiens in Montreal Friday.

The Canadiens are dealing with their own non-player COVID issue. The Canadiens did not have interim head coach Dominique Ducharme behind the bench for Game 3 tonight after he tested positive for COVID-19.

Looks like McCrimmon will be watching the VGK vs Montreal game 4 on TV like Golden Knights fans back in Las Vegas. Some fans will be at City National Arena for a watch party at a skate-and-watch event.

In other other NHL Final 4 semis, the Islanders and Lightning are tied at two games apiece heading into Game 5 in Tampa Monday.
