Golden Knights Acquire Mattias Janmark From Chicago Monday

The Vegas Golden Knights have acquired center Mattias Janmark from Chicago and did not tap into their lineup to realize the trade.

Golden Knights General Manager Kelly McCrimmon said the team was impressed with Janmark from his play in the Pandemic Bubble in Edmonton last year.

McCrimmon: “In Mattias Janmark, we get a player that really has good speed. He plays a very direct game. He’s had an excellent year in Chicago in an elevated role from what he had in Dallas. We have a really good history of viewing this player in the bubble in Edmonton.”

Our players have performed well. We believe in them and we never considered taking anyone out of the mix this season. That was pretty apparent that we believe in the players we have and we’re happy to add Mattias Janmark. — Kelly McCrimmon, VGK GM

Knights coach Pete DeBoer mentioned at his 4:15 PM presser today about placing Janmark with Alex Tuch and Tomas Nosek that could form a formidable third line.

Here’s McCrimmon’s complete five-minute-plus opening statement on the NHL trade deadline today.

It’s the VGK vs. the LA Kings at 7 PM Monday. Ryan Reaves and Keegan Kolesar are out with injuries.
