Nate Schmidt is still around Las Vegas -- in TV commercials on local TV stations.

Nate Schmidt Sticking Around Las Vegas — In TV Commercials For Local Hyundai Dealership

By Alan Snel of LVSportsBiz.com

The Vegas Golden Knights may have shipped popular defenseman Nate Schmidt to Vancouver, but ol’ “Schmidty” lives on in Las Vegas thanks to TV commercials where he’s pitching Hyundai cars for a local auto dealer in Henderson.

The Golden Knights dumped Schmidt’s salary by trading him recently to the Canucks to create salary cap space for new Golden Knights defenseman Alex Pietrangelo and his seven-year deal worth $61.6 million, averaging $8.8 million a year in salary.

Knights fans lamented the loss of Schmidt, who was popular with fans because of his friendly personality and goofy smile.

But VGK fans can still see Schmidt on TV in Las Vegas thanks to ads with Schmidt hawking Hyundais for the Henderson Hyundai Superstore on North Boulder Highway.

The Schmidt commercial was seen on KVVU-TV Channel 5 in Las Vegas Thursday morning.
