Raiders’ Allegiant Stadium Will Not Be Used As Election Polling Site In Las Vegas After NFL Team Offered Venue For Election Day

By Alan Snel of LVSportsBiz.com

The Las Vegas Raiders offered Allegiant Stadium as a potential election voting site in November, but the NFL’s new spacious domed stadium is not among the Election Day Vote Centers, according to Clark County election information sent to residents.

This year’s general election has shaped up to be a fierce showdown between Republican incumbent Donald Trump and Democratic challenger Joe Biden.

In addition, the national presidential campaigns are unfolding against a backdrop of professional sports leagues, teams and athletes becoming more engaged in the political process, especially with the NBA looking at using team arenas in cities as polling sites across the U.S.

If Allegiant Stadium didn’t make the cut as a polling center, the registrar likely decided to keep the palatial indoor football stadium off the voting center list.

There are 125 polling locations across Clark County in schools, recreation centers, shopping centers and community centers. There are also mail ballot drop-off locations.
