The Las Vegas Raiders players are learning about a new city, a new headquarters/training base and a new home stadium in Allegiant Stadium.
Today, Raiders tight Jason Witten chatted with the media, including his thoughts on the Raiders’ new home facility. Here are his comments:
Yeah, it’s created a buzz. There’s an energy from this facility, this city, this community. I think you feel it when you come in here.
First, it’s first class. They didn’t miss a beat with all the details of going in there to providing great opportunity. I think that says a lot from ownership the message being sent to the players. From the COVID testing to the people that reached out to assist with where you want to live. It’s been first class and it’s been a good experience.
And I’m coming from, as you said, maybe the leader of first class and how you do that in the Dallas Cowboys. So, I had a great experience there.
There’s a buzz with that and I think that’s a challenge for the players to kind of understand what’s been provided here and the opportunity, and don’t take it for granted.
It’s not like this everywhere and certainly I’m fortunate to be a part of it and it was one of the things that went through my thought process, ‘Hey, what a neat opportunity this is to be able to experience something like this.’
And even the veteran players that have been a part of this franchise for their entire careers, you feel it from them too. Like, man this is really neat to be on the big stage and to have this type of facility.
There was not a stone left unturned when they built it, so I commend Mr. Davis and the staff for giving the players this type of opportunity and you feel the buzz right when you walk in.
