There he was at 3 p.m. with temperatures in the 90s in early May Tuesday, attaching a Raiders flag to the stadium construction fence for a photo. he drove three and a half hours from Los Angeles and he planned to drive home after one more cruising of the Strip.

He paid his personal seat license for an upper level seat, another out-of-state season ticket holder who plans to attend Raiders games at Allegiant Stadium — of and when fans are allowed to gather at the 65,000-seat, domed venue sitting on the west side of I-15 across from Mandalay Bay.

Hundreds of construction workers, many wearing masks, were on the 62.5-acre site. Mortenson/McCarthy, the joint venture overseeing stadium construction, has asked the local health district  to help with testing of workers for COVID-19. Seven stadium construction workers have tested positive for the novel coronavirus. In the state of Nevada, 276 people have died from COVID-19.

The Vegas Golden Knights gave fans a little taste of the VGK spirit Tuesday afternoon as team mascot Chance and the cheerleaders were outside the training center in Summerlin as fans drove up to pick up logo gear at the curb outside City National Arena. LVSportsBiz.com had a Q and A with Golden Knights Chief Marketing Officer Brian Killingsworth on the curbside retail purchases:

LVSportsBiz.com: How many people came for pickup?

Brian Killingsworth: We had a steady flow of fans that placed orders in advance by emailing Arsenal@vegasgoldenknights.com or by calling 702.916.2986 so the pickup was quick, easy and safe.

*

LVSB: What did they buy?

BK:  We had Golden Knights fans purchasing a lot of new VGK gear and items for the summer, including swimsuits, beach balls, tank tops, etc.

*

LVSB: What was it like for fans to be back at practice facility?

BK: It was awesome seeing some of our biggest VGK fans stop by the Arsenal and say hi to Chance and our VGK Cast members.

*

LVSB: Will there be more events at CNA?

BK:  We are offering the Curbside Service at the Arsenal Monday-Friday from Noon-5pm. We are going to debut all new items for Mother’s Day starting on Thursday.

*

LVSB: What new items is team selling?

BK:  We are selling new, never before seen VGK hats, shirts, tank tops, beach balls, bathing suits and new items for summer. We also have a few of our VGK bikes for adults and kids still available.

 *

LVSB: What was it like to organize it?

BK: We are excited to put this program together for our fans that still want to support the Golden Knights. We have been waiting to debut some of these new items and curbside service gives us the opportunity to do that.

Nobody knows when the National Hockey League will re-start the season, which was halted March 12. The Golden Knights were leading the Pacific Division when the NHL paused the season.

Here’s a pic of a fan picking up some VGK merchandise and even salsa and chips on Cinco de Mayo.
