Raiders Stadium Update: Let er Roll at Allegiant Stadium

A road-paving crew was on the job Saturday afternoon, adding a beefy layer of asphalt on Polaris Avenue on the west side the Raiders’ Allegiant Stadium.
Construction in all forms — from Polaris Avenue and Raiders stadium to the Circa hotel-casino project in downtown Las Vegas and Resorts World Las Vegas on the Strip’s north end — are moving forward in Las Vegas as Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak deems construction jobs essential work during the state’s stay-at-home order and business shutdown.
OSHA has advised construction sites across Nevada to make sure workers know to wash their hands, stay six feet apart where possible and avoid touching their nose, eyes and mouth.
What’s challenging for construction sites is that there appears to be tasks that look like they require not one person but multiple workers to handle, meaning it’s difficult to main the six-foot physical separation on the jobs.
Two workers at the Raiders stadium construction site have tested positive for this novel coronavirus, while a worker at the Circa construction site in downtown has tested positive.
As of Saturday night, nearly 39,000 Americans have died from COVID-19. In Nevada, the coronavirus has claimed the lives of 151 people.
