Well, the Vegas Golden Knights did it again.

They came back on home ice to defeat the defending Stanley Cup champion St. Louis Blues by a single goal, 6-5, in overtime Thursday.

It was VGK forward Jonathan Marchessault who delivered the winning goal in OT.

Knights games are always the place to be seen. Raiders owner Mark Davis, Raiders coach Jon Gruden and former Raiders great Marcus Allen were part of the big crowd. And UNLV’s new football coach, Marcus Arroyo, cranked the siren to get the game off and running.

The Raiders trio had a fun time at the game. Max Pacioretty scored twice and Jonathan Marchessault did likewise. Nate Schmidt notched an equalizer goal in period three to knot the score at four before the Blues’ Zach Sanford completed a career game with his fourth goal of the game to give St. Louis a 5-4 lead.

Alex Tuch tied the game at five to send the game into OT.

Let’s check out in the post-game interviews:

Here’s VGK Coach Pete DeBoer post-game. He was impressed with the resiliency of the Knights.

The lowlight for the Golden Knights was Alex Tuch injuring his left leg late in the game after he tied the score at five. He was helped off the ice. DeBoer said he should know more about Tuch tomorrow.
