Goodyear Blimp Beats The Nasty CES Show Traffic In Las Vegas

The traffic around Las Vegas Convention Center is a mess with the mega CES show in Las Vegas, but 1,000 feet above the west side of Interstate 16 with a view of the Strip and the Raiders’ Allegiant Stadium under construction there’s no congestion at all.
The 246-foot long Goodyear blimp named Wingfoot Three is zipping along nicely at a 35 mph c;lip and I’m along a half-dozen journalists soaking up the joy ride’s aerial views.
We do a 45-minute trip from the North Las Vegas Airport to as far south as Mandala Bay hotel-casino and do a U-turn just before reaching the Raiders’ $1.97 billion stadium project on the west side of the interstate and the Strip.
Our pilots were Taylor Dean and William Bayliss, who nosedived the blimp at a 26-degree angle when landing at the North Las Vegas Airport to give us something to write home about. Check out the video of the landing approach.
