The Vegas Golden Knights drew their usual 18,000 plus crowd and continued their winning ways Tuesday evening with a 3-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild.

The announced attendance checked in at 18,220, with VGKers Chandler Stephenson, Shea Theodore and Tomas Nosek delivering the tallies. Goalie Marc-Andre Fleury picked up the win after the Wild took a 1-0 lead after period one. Nosek’s third period goal turned out be the game-winner.

The Golden Knights fell behind late in period one when the Wild scored on a two-man, 5-on-3 advantage, LVSportsBiz.com asked VGK coach Gerard Gallant about the late period one penalties, and Gallant responded: “Are you trying to get me fined?”

Gallant described the victory as a “gritty win” after the game, which had an intense, playoff-like feel to it.

The Knights responded with two goals in period two, the second of which was a goal by defenseman Shea Theodore who skated in on the right side and let loose with a wrist shot that hit the twine behind Minnesota goalie Alex Stalock with only ten seconds left in the period.

Goal celebration, period two.

Stephenson had knotted the score at one off a sweet pass from his linemate, Mark Stone.

Late in period three, the Wild’s Zach Parise scored on a 6-on-5 to cut the lead to 3-2.

Scenes off the ice

What happened to be the big helmet drop as part of the VGK player intros? It was listed as a scratch, with a lower body mechanical issue, I bet.
