The Las Vegas Aces of the 12-team WNBA has a deal to broadcast nearly all of their home games on local TV in Las Vegas.

Sixteen of the WNBA team’s 17 home games will be broadcast on Sinclair’s MyLVTV, including the season-opener against the Los Angeles Sparks at 5 p.m. Sunday.

TV broadcasts will feature Aces’ new center Liz Cambage, here at her introductory press conference Monday.

The MGM Resorts International-owned team, now in its second season in Las Vegas, wants to spread the word of its sports product in a busy sports market.

And Sinclair Broadcasting is looking for local content for its channels such as Channel 3 and MyLVTV, which is Channel 12 on the Cox cable TV system.

MyLVTV is available locally over the air (Channel 21), on COX (Channel 12, 1012 in HD), on Centurylink (Channel 21) and on DirecTV (Channel 21). All games are broadcast from the Mandalay Bay Events Center, the home court for the Aces.

Here’s a prepared press release statement: “The Aces are Las Vegas’ team, and it was important for us in this broadcast agreement to find a true partner in the community,” said Aces’ Assistant General Manager Christine Monjer. “Sinclair Broadcasting and MyLVTV fit that mold perfectly. Their commitment to the region and interest in partnering with the world’s premier women’s sports league is a win-win for our franchise and the city of Las Vegas.”

Naturally, there will be activation opportunities under the deal.  In addition to offering access to 16 of 17 home games, the partnership will include a number of notable marketing and content creation elements, including ticket giveaways, promotional spots, exclusive online and over the air features, digital advertising, and meet and greets.

Las Vegas Aces’ new center Liz Cambage, just acquired in a trade, chats with team president Christine Monjer after the Cambage news conference at MGM Grand Garden Arena Monday afternoon.

Another prepared statement: “This partnership reinforces our commitment to connecting our audiences with premium, local content and is another way to showcase our status as a premier partner for local and regional sports franchises,” said Larry Strumwasser, Sinclair’s MyLVTV GM. “The Las Vegas Aces has a dedicated and loyal fan base, and we are thrilled to be able to provide them with easy access to watch all games, furthering our goal to equip our audience with ways to view highly desirable, local content.”

There are other ways to see the Aces, too. In addition to the Aces’ local TV contract, the team has two games being broadcast on ESPN2 this season, five on NBATV, six on twitter, and eight on CBS Sports Network.

There’s 2018 Aces All-Star player Kayla McBride.

Don’t forget: the Aces are also hosting AT&T WNBA All-Star Game 2019 on July 27. Tickets to All-Star, as well as season, group, single game and flex plan ticket packages may be purchased at LasVegasAces.com.
