The cheapest beer deal in Las Vegas sports is not at Las Vegas Aviators games on Thursday Beer Night when beers are sold for $2 for two hours at the new Summerlin ballfield after those beers were once a buck at Cashman Field.
It’s not at Las Vegas Lights FC games where the downtown soccer team has a craft beer sponsorship with Two Roots Brewing Co, a brand of artisan craft beer with roots in both hops and cannabis beverages.
It’s certainly not at Vegas Golden Knights games because $17 Beer Nights just don’t sound like a great deal.
Believe it or not, Dollar Beer Night — or Dollar LaimBEER Night — is returning to Las Vegas sports at a WNBA Las Vegas Aces Thursday game in June.
Yes beer fans, all you need is a dollar to purchase a 12-ounce cup of sudsy Miller Lite or Coors Light on June 20 when the Aces host the Washington Mystics at Mandalay Bay Events Center on the Strip. It’s going to be called, Dollar LaimBEER Night.
It’s the Aces’ only Thursday evening game and the team is going to have a “Throwback Thursday” theme for the game — which fits in nicely with dollar beer night, which is a throwback to times when beer was a buck in Las Vegas.
The Aces marketing, ticketing and in-game presentation staffs came up with Dollar LaimBEER Night during a retreat before the season, said Blake Broaddus, Aces game presentation manager.
The idea of buck beer night with Coach Laimbeer’s name was written on a sticky note during the retreat — and the promotion idea stuck, Broaddus said Tuesday.
A little research on the internet yielded a 2014 ESPNW column that said Laimbeer’s beer of choice is Newcastle.
