Wynn Las Vegas Sign On Golden Knights Ad Boards: Stay or Go?

Las Vegas casino magnate Steve Wynn got the boot from his own board and even his home. So, when I saw the Wynn sign with the man’s signature serving as the brand logo on the Vegas Golden Knights ice rink boards at T-Mobile Arena, a logical question came to mind. Should the now-tainted Wynn and his signature sign also get the boot from the Golden Knights advertisement boards that bear the names of companies paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for the signage?

Should the Wynn sign stay or go?

In this case, the Wynn sign is in a high visibility section of the boards in front of  the Golden Knights bench.

Get ready for baseball in Summerlin. Earth-moving equipment has been in action this week at the construction site of the new Las Vegas 51s ballpark, a $150 million Triple A 10,000-seat venue that will feature a pool, a 360-degree concourse and 22 suites. LVSportsBiz.com took this video Wednesday to show you the early site prep work. Summerlin developer and 51s owner Howard Hughes Corp. owner and the ball club are staging a groundbreaking Friday morning.

Site prep work is underway at the 51s ballpark construction site.

And the fencing along South Pavilion Center Drive in Summerlin is being installed too.

It was disappointing to see Golden Knights and Anaheim Ducks fans throwing punches and scrapping after Monday night’s Ducks’ 2-0 win on Chance bobble head night. So many fans who come to Golden Knights games are hockey fans rooting for the visiting team, but Monday’s mini-brawl was the first fight and scuffle I have seen. The Golden Knights are working with T-Mobile Arena security and Metro Police to ID the punchers and instigators. LVSportsBiz.com reported this story on the post-game fight. Here is video courtesy of Kyle Johnson on the fight.

There’s a premier high school football event called the Polynesian Football Classic and this year’s event will feature five games with 10 teams from six states that will be played at Liberty High School in Henderson Sept 7 and 8. The powerhouse matches include IMG Academy, 2017 number two nationally ranked from Florida, playing 2017 Nevada 4A semifinalist Liberty High Sept. 7;  and 2017 6A Arizona state champion Chandler High School playing 2017 Nevada 4A semifinalist Faith Lutheran. Las Vegas-based Coaching Charities helped on this event.

Las Vegas Motor Speedway has signed Lyft as its official rideshare partner, and there will be a dedicated drop-off and pickup location close to the fan entrance to the 1.5-mile superspeedway. Speedway officials urge fans to arrive early and use mass transportation and rideshare options like Lyft each day. In addition, the completion of construction to widen Interstate 15 near the speedway has Las Vegas Motor Speedway officials excited and optimistic about the track’s traffic plan for March’s big NASCAR Weekend coming up. With added lanes taking fans to and from Speedway Boulevard’s Exit 54 from the Las Vegas Strip, race organizers and local and county representatives expect a quicker and more fluid traffic egress for the March 2-4 races. In addition to four lanes to and from the track’s exit, fans will have two dedicated exit lanes coming off of I-15 from the south. And remember, leave the car racing to the pros.
