LAS VEGAS, Nevada — The Vegas Golden Knights should face better competition Tuesday when the Tampa Bay Lightning visit T-Mobile Arena after tonight’s easy win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Just the facts: Vegas Golden Knights 6 Pittsburgh Penguins 2

The rock from Year 1

Storyline: Penguins looked tired after losing to the Colorado Avalanche, 5-2, the night before in Denver. Vegas scored twice on its first three shots and five on 15 shots through two periods.

VGK getting offensive about defense: Defensemen Rasmus Andersson, Noah Hanifin, Shea Theodore scored in the first two periods.

Scoring machine: Captain Mark Stone scored his seventh goal of the season.

The kid is the real deal: Twenty-year-old Trevor Connelly scored his fourth goal, showing a nose for the net. (Brett Howden also scored his fourth.)

Announced attendance: 17,437 — fixed seats in arena is 17,367 so tonight is considered a sellout

Record: VGK have won eight of their first ten games so far.

No hill too steep to climb: Adin Hill remains undefeated this season.
