LAS VEGAS, Nevada — The National Hockey League scored big with Thursday’s Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final — a contest won by the Carolina Hurricanes in comeback fashion.

It was the Stanley Cup Final’s most watched Game 2 since 2015. The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Vegas Golden Knights, 4-3, in overtime in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The June 4 game attracted 4.7 million viewers and peaked at 5.8 million.

Saturday’s Game 3 will likely generate big viewer numbers. The game was an epic, instant-classic thriller won by the Golden Knights, 5-4, in double overtime. The Knights lead the Best-of-7 NHL championship round two games to one.

Game 4 is Tuesday at T-Mobile Arena.

Game 5 is Thursday in Raleigh, North Carolina.

VGK coach John Tortorella has mentioned that at this point it’s more mental than physical and he does not know why there has been so many momentum swings in the first three games. Tortorella has said at this point practices are overrated and also he has been coaching with the players and guiding them.
