LAS VEGAS, Nevada —  The A’s have hired a former Utah Jazz and Mammoth employee as the team’s new director of corporate communications and publicity.

Makaelee Henry spent nearly five years at Smith Entertainment Group, which oversees the NBA Jazz and NHL Mammoth.

The A’s are in a hiring mode as they prepare to open a new $2 billion domed stadium on the Strip at the former Tropicana hotel site in March 2028.

The A’s have advertised for candidates to fill job openings for positions like chief financial officer and IT director.

Henry conveyed the news about her new job with the A’s in a LinkedIn post:

The Vegas Golden Knights have tickets to sell.

The NHL team moving into its tenth season has been hyping 10-game plans and half-season deals on social media.

The NHL is starting an 84-game season in 2026-27, expanding the regular season by two games over the previous 82-game season.

Here’s a look at the 10-game plans:

The Knights averaged 17,929 fans a game last season during the 41 home dates at T-Mobile Arena, which celebrated its tenth year in April.

Vegas was 39-26-17 for 95 points, good enough to win the NHL’s Pacific Division. The VGK defeated Utah, Anaheim and Colorado to reach the Stanley Cup Final, but lost to Carolina in six games.

The Golden Knights open the regular season at home Sept. 29 when VGK host the Chicago Blackhawks.

With so many local teams in a market of 2.3 million people, sports marketing staffers in the metro Las Vegas area are rolling out ticket deals in hopes of luring Las Vegas fans.

UNLV football is hyping a $35 game ticket for a lower bowl seat for fans to watch the Rebels play Memphis Aug. 29 and Cal Oct. 3 at Allegiant Stadium.
