LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Nearly three weeks after he stunned the hockey world by firing coach Bruce Cassidy and hiring John Tortorella, Vegas Golden Knights General Manager Kelly McCrimmon said Friday he’s pleased with the VGK’s 7-0-1 regular season finish and believes Tortorella has instilled the Knights with an “aggressive mindset.”

McCrimmon, meeting the Vegas Golden Knights media after today’s practice, said the VGK have “played up tempo” since Torts took the Vegas coaching reins May 29. The team went from third place in the Pacific Division to winning its fifth division crown in its nine-year history since McCrimmon fired Cassidy and replaced him with Tortorella.
