LAS VEGAS, Nevada — The Golden Knights might be getting hot down the stretch of the NHL’s 82-game season.
With his fourth straight start, VGK goalie Adin Hill looks like he’s rounding into form in time for the playoff push while the Knights grabbed a lead in the first period for a second straight game by ambushing the last-place Chicago Blackhawks with three goals notched by Pavel Dorofeyev (33rd on power play) , Rasmus Andersson and Keegan Kolesar in the first 12 minutes.
Vegas’ defense applied the clamps on Chicago, limiting the Blackhawks to only 13 shots on goal in the first 50 minutes.
Just the facts: Vegas Golden Knights 4 Chicago Blackhawks 0
VGK goal scorers: Dorofeyev (33, powerplay, and 34); Andersson (12); Kolesar (6)
Attendance: 18,128
VGK record: 31-22-14 for 76 points, first place in the division by a point over Anaheim.
VGK’s next game: Vs Buffalo Tuesday

Las Vegas hotel owner Derek Stevens, owner of Circa, the D an Golden Gate in downtown, came onto the ice during the first period to donate $100,000 for youth hockey in Vegas. Stevens has been a VGK team sponsor from Season 1 and is a true Las Vegas throwback. He has donated $100K annually for the Knights’ nine years — or $900,000.
Circa Sports patches were on both the VGK and Blackhawk jerseys tonight.
Seat Geak had the cheapest secondary market ticket at $103 for tonight’s game.
