LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Sissons from Bowman.
You probably didn’t expect that combo to start the scoring for the Vegas Golden Knights against the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight.
But Colton Sissons (5th) redirected a pass from Braeden Bowman into the goal to open the scoring midway through period one.

It was only the VGK’s second shot on goal, and the puck beat Arturs Silovs.
After the first period, it was Vegas 1 Pittsburgh 0 with the Pens missing stars Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.

Vivid Seats had tickets starting at $49 for upper bowl seats on the secondary ticket market.

In the second period, it was the VGK’s top goal scorer, Pavel Dorofeyev, scoring his 31st to extend Vegas’ lead to 2-0.
Pittsburgh’s Rickard Rakell and VGK’s Mitch Marner (19th) swapped goals and Vegas had a 3-1 lead midway through the middle stanza.
Former VGKer Anthony Mantha threaded a gorgeous pass to Ben Kindel who tapped a backdoor goal past Vegas goalie Adin Hill to cut the VGK lead to 3-2.
In the third period, Dorofeyev notched his second of the night and VGK took a 4-2 lead before Jack Eichel scored his 24th of the season for a 5-2 advantage. And empty-netter by defenseman Brayden McNabb wrapped up the win.
