LAS VEGAS., Nevada — Sin City is Gonazaga’s gateway to the Big Dance every year.

Again.

The Zags took care of business Tuesday night in their final season in the West Coast Conference, defeating third-seeded Santa Clara, 79-68. Gonzaga fans erupted at 8:12 PM Vegas time when the Bulldogs claimed another WCC title.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs usually play Saint Mary’s from Moraga, California in the WCC tournament final. But last night Santa Clara upended the Saint Mary’s Gaels to earn a spot in tonight’s WCC final at Orleans Arena. Expect Saint Mary’s and Santa Clara to draw spots in the NCAA tournament.

As usual, Gonzaga fans packed the final, with red and navy blue shirts filling the arena that hosts the WCC tourney every year.

Las Vegas is a hoops central in early March when the WCC and WAC have their tourneys at Orleans Arena, the Big West stages its event at the Lee’s Family Forum in Henderson and the Mountain West Conference holds court at the Thomas & Mack Center on the UNLV campus.
