LAS VEGAS, Nevada — The Athletics are planning an exclusive upscale restaurant behind home plate in their new stadium on the Strip.

It’s going to be called, appropriately enough, the “Athletic Club,” and it will be reserved for only premium season-ticketholders who have seats behind home plate.

In a press release, the A’s said it’s “a first-of-its-kind, all-inclusive hospitality experience” though LVSportsBiz.com has seen upscale, fancy restaurants behind home plate in other MLB stadiums.

In this case, the A’s are working with their concessionaire, Aramark Sports + Entertainment, and restauranteur Will Guidara to create this fancy food and drink space at the $2 billion, 33,000-fan, domed venue that is scheduled to open for the 2028 MLB season.

The A’s media release said Aramark and Guidara have also developed something called the Diamond Club, which is an all‑inclusive social hub for premium ticket members located next to the Athletic Club.

Upscale food and beverage offerings are typical features in premium areas in modern stadiums these days in the U.S. In the baseball world, concessionaires at MLB ballparks are always trying to outdo each other with new culinary creations that are getting larger and more unusual every season.

What’s interesting about Aramark’s role in the A’s stadium is that the concessionaire had to buy a stake in the team in order to win the food and beverage contract at the new stadium.

The premium season ticket holders will also have to pay a personal seat license (PSL) charge to get the chance to buy a premium seat season ticket. About 6,000 of the 30,000 fixed seats will have PSLs, with space for 3,000 standing fans. The stadium will be designed for fans to roam.

A’s president Marc Badain was the president of the NFL Las Vegas Raiders when that team opened its new domed stadium in 2020 when that venue also featured some fancy club areas with upscale food and beverages.

The A’s release said Athletic Club and Diamond Club deals will go on sale later this month to those on the Priority Access List. Fans interested in learning more or securing seats must schedule an in-person appointment at the team’s welcome center in the UnCommons business development off the 215 beltway in the southwest Vegas valley.
